OMMAX advised Bertelsmann Investments’ EMBRACE on the acquisition of milch & zucker, a leading HR tech and service provider in Germany offering an applicant tracking system (the BeeSite Recruiting Edition), agency services (employer branding & recruitment marketing) and an own job board (Jobstairs.de).

OMMAX conducted commercial, product, tech, and AI due diligence. This comprehensive analysis entailed an examination of milch & zucker’s unique business model, its market dynamics and competitive landscape, as well as an evaluation of the company's tech and product capabilities. Additionally, the impact of AI on the market and the company’s AI readiness were assessed.

The company operates in a market propelled by fundamental trends, such as challenges to attract top talent, the growing importance of skill-based recruiting and increasing automation of HR processes. In this context, it stands out with a best-of-breed applicant tracking system (APS). The strong ability to support large mid-cap and enterprise clients in the critical hiring step of the employee journey has earned it a strong “fanbase” among highly satisfied clients and their outstanding loyalty.

The AI readiness assessment highlighted a dedicated team that developed and integrated mature AI use cases into the software product suite, such as the automated generation of conversion-optimized job descriptions, further increasing productivity in clients’ HR functions. Focused investments have led to the design of new features, which are on the roadmap and will be integrated into the software suite BeeSite going forward.
